Strings Program
What is the Abbey Park Strings Program?
The Abbey Park High School Strings Program provides an opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to receive instruction on violin, viola, cello and bass. Students will have the opportunity to explore the many facets of string playing through:
Experienced Strings: This program is best suited for students with 2 or more years’ experience on the violin, viola, cello or double bass.
Intermediate Strings: This program is best suited for students who have one or two years of experience on the violin, viola, cello or double bass.
What does the Strings Program include?
Students have the opportunity to learn through various methods including:
Professional coaching sessions
Performances in the community
Attendance at live concerts and rehearsals
Score reading and analysis of standard repertoire
A focus on literacy through musical study
What are the advantages for Experienced players?
Expansion of string orchestra repertoire
